I will post a few cartoons, most as bad or worse than this one, simply to try something new here.
At work, we are using 'Talk it up' for our freshman classes. I don't really like it and my cartoon illustrates why. The book includes the line, "I always drink coffee." The sentence is fine but is strange on its own. If it came prefaced with a question like, "What do you do in the morning?", it would make sense. Without any context, this is what "I always drink coffee" means to me.
Kevin doesn't have much to worry about.

Yes, I've thought about it. I've also wondered how much I could write on the student's forehead or neck before he/she woke up.
I think I need an idea a little less destructive,though. Photography is a nice balancing of embarrassment, humor, teaching the lesson and not totally destroying the student's dignity.
Hey, I could do the wet-hand-sneezing trick! You know, you flick wet fingers while making a sneezing noise. It's also great fun on the back of the necks of nonsleeping people!
I will try it and also try to photograph it. I'll let you know and thanks for the idea.
